How Access Works

Access to GopherPad is by application, not instant signup. This page explains why we manage access this way, how the application process works, and what happens if space isn't currently available in your area.

Why We Manage Access

We limit the number of businesses in each trade and area to prevent oversaturation. This means better results for those who get access, but not everyone can join immediately.

Area Coverage Limits

Each area can only support a certain number of businesses in each trade before it becomes too crowded. Too many plumbers in one town means fewer jobs for each plumber.

We track how many businesses we have in each trade across different areas. When an area reaches its limit for a particular trade, we stop accepting new applications until space becomes available.

How this helps:

More work opportunities for each business that gets access
Better customer experience with appropriate choice
Sustainable system that works long-term
Quality maintained rather than quantity maximized
Area Coverage Planning

What We Handle

Page creation: We build and design the webpage for you
Search visibility: Making sure local people can find your page
Updates: Keeping information current and page working properly

4

When Applications Are Declined

If your application cannot be accepted, it's not personal. It simply means there isn't currently space in your requested areas for your trade.

Common Reasons for Decline

Most declines happen because the areas you want to cover already have enough businesses in your trade. This is about area capacity, not about your business or qualifications.

Sometimes different areas have different availability. We might be able to offer access in some areas but not others, depending on current coverage levels.

Typical decline reasons:

Area already has sufficient coverage for your trade
Requested coverage areas overlap too much with existing businesses
High demand trade with limited available spots
Currently pausing new applications while system develops
Application Review Process

What Happens Next

If Your Application Is Paused

Waiting list: You're added to our list for your trade and areas
Future contact: We contact you if space becomes available
No action needed: You don't need to reapply or chase up
Alternative areas: Consider expanding your coverage if possible

When Space Becomes Available

Business changes: Existing businesses may reduce coverage or leave
Area growth: Population growth may create space for more businesses
We contact you: Direct contact when opportunities arise
Quick decision: Limited time to respond when space opens up

Timeline Expectations

Waiting times vary significantly depending on your trade and requested areas. Some businesses may get access quickly while others might wait months.

High Demand Areas

Popular trades in busy areas may have longer waiting lists.

Flexible Coverage

Willing to work in multiple areas? Faster access may be possible.

Stay Updated

We contact you directly when opportunities match your requirements.
